The brief
The brief – To construct a development of 12 semi-detached residential dwellings, of 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms within a private cul-de-sac, common areas of landscaped gardens and large rear private gardens
The outcome
The outcome – Meridian created Lucas Close – a beautiful development of 12 houses, consisting of 6 semi-detached units ranging from 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms. A former railing and brown field site, the site is situated in a flood risk zone, so the houses had to be raised out of the ground by one metre. The houses are nestled round a private road with landscaped common areas for children and adults to walk and play. The houses back onto beautiful marsh land with access to fabulous nature walks. This in turn meant we had to be careful and considerate when constructing these units, as impact on wildlife had to be considered. The houses were constructed using timber frame cladding with brick, tile hanging and render. All houses had extensive driveways and large rear gardens. The houses benefited from having gas, water, electric and top of the range broadband, the first in the area to have access to this speed. Surface water is attenuated on site and released into the main connection via a flow chamber.
