The brief

A 2 year staged framework contract to include a new stable and barn conversion of a listed structure, refurbishment of an existing water tower, construction of new stables and cow sheds and the refurbishment of three existing cottages including external works, all in keeping with the existing estate.

The outcome

This project was carried out for the Oppenheimer family, on a 220 acre organic and biodynamic farm and garden which offers a unique opportunity for visitors to explore a series of naturalistic gardens. The challenges here included the listed structure, which always comes with its own unique challenges, but the refurbishment of the cottages externally required works to be in keeping with what was already there, such as using reclaimed cobbles to repair pavements. The client was also very keen on the use of sustainable materials, and we followed this strict brief and achieved the desired outcome.
